You might have caught the latest additions to the Ton – Miri native, Zheng Xi Yong, recently went viral for his supporting role as dashing Lord Barnaby and love interest to the character of Miss Posy. But did you know, that this isn’t the first time a Bornean has made it onto the big screen and Bridgerton?
Kristina Rahman, who hails from Brunei, played the role of lady-in-waiting to beloved Queen Charlotte in Season 2 of the hit tv show. Both actors say they are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to feature in such a high profile show. “Regency-style costumes involve wearing a waspie that’s tightly cinched in your waist and wigs that weigh heavier as hours pass. Shooting went on for months and took me to the most incredible locations, including Osterley Park and Wilton House. Being on set was surreal,” shared Kristina adding that it was surreal and magical to have met all the cast in close proximity, and watching behind the scenes.
“I feel incredibly proud and very blessed. It’s not every day that someone like me who grew up in a small, beautiful and traditionally humble country like Brunei, gets an opportunity to be part of a major series like Bridgerton that is watched and loved worldwide.” Most gracious, indeed!
