Oishiidesu! A Japanese Food Fair at One City Shopping Centre in Salambigar wowed visitors and invited guests alike as a bevy of local and foreign vendors showcased their delicious products. Officiating the first Japanese Food Fair was Mr Suda Atsushi, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim and Mr Tan Kah Boon, Managing Director of OneCity Shopping Centre, with the pounding of mochi.
The two-day event featured Japanese food making demonstrations, introducing fun and informative ways of making Japanese cuisine such as mochi pounding, tuna cutting (maguro katai) performance by Yamako Pacific (B) Sdn Bhd, chirashi bowl demonstration by The Common Ground Sdn Bhd and Udon noodles making demonstration by Nagomi Restaurant. Families also enjoyed the the fun origami session by The Japan Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (J.CLAIR) further introducing Japanese culture to all ages.
This first ever Japanese Food Fair was co-organised by the collaboration of the Embassy of Japan of Brunei Darussalam, OneCity Shopping Centre and the Japan Foundation, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Brunei.
