Literature on Borneo just got a serious bump up with the launch of the Dayak Architectural Heritage (Khazanah Arlksitektur Dayak) book! Helmed by Yoris Mangenda, a Kalimantan architect of Dayak heritage, this incredibly comprehensive tome adds credible depths to the information available about Borneo’s Dayak culture. This book aims to showcase the diverse architectural heritage of the Dayak people in Kalimantan, explained Mangenda, who added that it was compiled through the collaborative effort of 14 authors from various backgrounds.
“This book serves a simple purpose: to fill the gap in comprehensive archival and documentation of the diverse Dayak architecture that still stands today. I believe that with a solid foundation of documented knowledge from the past, we can certainly strengthen efforts to develop knowledge for the future.”
