It was all packed halls and excitement at the very first BIBD Mega Karnival where local businesses shone and there were prizes galore to be had! Over five excitement-filled days, the public enjoyed a plethora of activities, indulged in great food from local vendors, to celebrate Bruneian businesses. BIBD’s Chief Marketing Officer Hjh Nurul Akmar Hj Mohd Jaafar said that the carnival is an appreciation to their support and loyalty.
“The BIBD Mega Karnival is really about thanking our customers for their support and loyalty. We want to create this event as a way of connecting with our customers and the community, creating a space for families to enjoy time together and convey our gratitude to those who have stood by us.” There really was something for everyone at the BIBD Karnival, as the Bridex Halls 1 and 2 were outfitted with 300 booths featuring more than 100 food and beverage vendors, a dedicated gathering of over 20 local coffee vendors, and nearly 40 of the latest car models for visitors to explore — not to mention a petting zoo, local movies and a go-kart course, and BND 300,000 worth of giveaways!
The ‘Bicara Santai’ fireside chats focusing on topics such as entrepreneurship, sustainability and mental healthy, were a fantastic addition to educate the public and give budding startups the chance to learn from seasoned local entrepreneurs. You could even get a home loan there if you wanted to! The lively marketplace feel of the event certainly made it all the more fun to wander around, and with the promotion of a cashless experience at the event there was no excuse not to shop til you drop.
